Celebrating its twelfth anniversary in 2011, Greetings etc. is the industry's leading business trade magazine covering the social and personal expression markets (greeting cards, stationery and personal accessories & gifts).

In Print: Greetings etc. is published four times a year and travels to all the major industry trade shows and events throughout the year. Serving retailers and buyers the editorial mission is to deliver informative, business-focused articles on industry and merchandise trends, retailer profiles, manufacturer profiles, consumer trends, eco-friendly products and much more. In addition to the quarterly print issues Greetings etc. also produces several annual supplements such as Invitations etc., The LOUIE Award Special and an industry Buyer's Guide.

Online: Greetings etc.'s website -- www.greetingsmagazine.com -- features daily-updated product information and industry news, as well as trend and business articles. This vibrant online entity is now much more interactive, allowing users to log in and rate stories. This is how Greetings etc. keeps its finger on the pulse of what the industry wants to know about and likes! Greetingsmagazine.com also features Industry Videos, bringing live coverage from industry events. In Person: Greetings etc. cosponsors, along with trade-show producer GLM, the National Stationery Show Delegate program. This elite group of veteran retailers contributes business information to Greetings etc.'s print and online versions. Additionally, Greetings etc. cosponsors with GLM the "Daily Demo" daily demonstrations held at the National Stationery Show in New York City each May.

About Greetings etc.'s Team:

Gabriele Edgell, Chairman & CEO

Gabriele and her late husband Doug founded Edgell Communications in 1984 with the acquisition of Selling Christmas Decorations and the launch of their first technology-based publication, Automatic ID News, covering the emerging bar code industry.  Although the startup was later sold to another publisher, the company continued its launchstrategy in the technology space as well as in the merchandising sphere including: RIS News in 1988, Selling Halloween in 1990, Vertical Systems Reseller and Consumer Goods Technology in 1992,Hospitality Technology in 1997, Greetings etc. in 1999. This was followed by the acquisition of Mobile Enterprise and Apparel Magazine in 2005.

Gabriele’s primary focus in the company has been running the merchandising magazines, which have been integral to the firm’s growth strategy. Her involvement in this market indeed her role as a founding member of NOEL: The Christmas Decorations Association. Her experience prior to starting Edgell Communications includes sales at several firms and publishing research at Ziff-Davis. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Queens College, Flushing, NY.  She is the mother of two children, Katherine 27 and Greg 23 and her new adopted dog, Jack. 
 

Laura Connolly, Publisher: Laura Connolly joined Edgell Communications as Publisher of Greetings etc. in April 2010. She has over twenty years experience in sales and marketing management in B2B and B2C media. For over ten years Laura managed an established trade publication with Simmons Boardman Publishing where she developed their International Sales division. Eager to learn and innovate she recently spearheaded and launched new conceptual conference driven tradeshows serving emerging markets in the spa and beauty retail sectors with United Business Media. She resides in Princeton, NJ where she enjoys the vibrant university town community and the surrounding natural beauty of the Central, NJ area.
 

Dorothy Creamer, Editor: Dorothy Creamer was appointed editor of Greetings etc. in January of 2010. Dorothy joined Edgell Communications in 2009 as editor-in-chief of Selling Christmas Decorations and Selling Halloween. Formerly she was associate editor of Home Lighting & Accessories magazine. Prior to that Dorothy was senior editor at King Media and helmed seven consumer titles during her tenure there. Dorothy resides in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Katherine Edgell, Senior Account Manager: Katherine has been with Edgell Communications for more than 6 years. She serves as Account Manager for Edgell's Merchandising publications, overseeing three magazine franchises: Selling Halloween, Selling Christmas Decorations and Greetings etc. When not working, Katherine is an avid equestrian competing nationally.  Noreen A. Walsh, Copy Editor/Support Manager: Noreen Walsh joined Edgell Communications in 2004. With more than 10 years of experience in the publishing industry, Noreen most recently served as assistant publisher of "Love & Marriage Bride's Guide," a quarterly bridal magazine covering the state of New Jersey. Prior to that, she was with Concepts Video Production, where she was responsible for casting and producing direct-response television commercials. Noreen holds a B.A. in Fine Arts -- Theatre from Rider University and is a member of the Dover Little Theatre, where she is also a director.
